Description

The K2 Marksman is a unique freeride ski inspired by backcountry freeride legend Pep Fujas. It’s unique in the sense that there is specifically a right and left ski thanks to asymmetrical sidecut. The idea is that in soft snow the different shaped inner and outer edge actually become the same turn radius as your downhill ski flexes a lot more in powder than your uphill ski. It’s a concept K2 spent a lot of time testing and it really provides a balanced, fun feel in soft snow. What’s really cool is that when you’re not in soft snow you don’t notice the different shaped inner and outer edges as the effective edge on firm snow eliminates the difference, which is all seen in the rockered portion of the ski. This means that even though the ski is designed to excel in powder conditions you can actually carve turns on groomers with a pretty responsive feel. It has a very playful feel with a relatively soft flex throughout the ski, but has enough stability to open it up and ski pretty fast through choppy conditions. Skiers that like to slash turns, jump and bounce around the mountain, and ski in a generally playful way will really enjoy the K2 Marksman. Thanks for such a cool ski Pep!
